As the premiere airport in the region, Baku Airport (BAK) provides numerous international flights to a variety of destinations through world airlines such as British Airways, Emirates Airways and Lufthansa Airlines, as well as domestic carriers to local destinations.For first-class passengers, there is a high-class lounge that provides both luxury and comfort. For passengers interested in buying duty-free goods, it should be noted that only Euros are accepted for purchases, although change is often given in dollars. The busy airport is notorious for long security lines, so passengers are advised to plan ahead. For foreigners arriving at the airport, a stamp from the passport desk is required before returning to the visa desk for a final wave-through.Taxis are available to and from the airport, and interested travelers are advised to hire one from just outside the airport rather than inside the customs area.
