It’s also close to the central business district and ideal for business travelers in town for a conference or convention. High-end hotel chains like Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt are all located in and around the harbor and offer exquisite services and great views of the water. Most of the hotels in this neighborhood provide shuttle service to and from Baltimore/Washington International Airport. Keep in mind that hotels within walking distance of the harbor are by the far the most desired in the city and reservations should always be made well in advance.
The Inner Harbor is great for most travelers, but if you’re really looking for excellent nightlife you may want to consider other options. Fell’s Point is perhaps a more sophisticated, nightlife-focused alternative to the Inner Harbor. In this historic district you’ll find smaller, private hotels and adorable bed & breakfasts. The area is well connected to Little Italy, perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Federal Hill, Midtown and Canton are all great Baltimore neighborhoods as well, each with a distinct feel and a number of comfortable accommodations. Midtown is particularly well connected to public transportation, something that’s not so easy to come by in Baltimore.
There are dozens of cheaper hotels near the airport as well, which you may want to consider if you’re worried about parking and just plan on sticking to the very touristy spots in the city. Without exception these airports offer convenient shuttle service to the Inner Harbor and other popular destinations.
