The Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is located approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) to the southwest of downtown Chengdu in China. With over 17 million passengers in 2008 the airport was the busiest in all of Western China.
Multiple international airlines offer direct services to the airport from many destinations throughout Asia and select destinations in Europe. Buses are available to take you to the city centre of Chengdu and run until approximately 1am in the morning every day. Taxi services are also available but passengers should stick to officially registered taxis and try to agree on a price before entering the vehicle or insist on the taxi meter being used. Buses can also take you from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) to nearby train stations that can connect you to many major communities throughout the region of Western region of China.
As a busy international airport there can be large queues and delays during the busy seasons but amenities and facilities are maintained to a reasonably high level in order to accommodate for international passengers in the form of both tourists and business arrivals.
