Cologne’s airport is located 15km southeast of the city center and 20km northeast of Bonn, The airport is a modern facility featuring two passenger terminals which are connected by free shuttle buses.
Flights to Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN) come from all over Germany and Europe as well as New York.
A number of car hire companies have a presence at the airport including Alamo, Avis, Budget and Sixt. The car rental counters can be found in the arrivals area of Terminal 1. Other ground transportation options include the S-Bahn trains which depart from the airport railway station located between the terminals. Trains go to Cologne’s central station as well as other of the city’s stations. Airport shuttles are also available to Cologne and Bonn and to the central station in Dusseldorf. Buses leave from Terminal 2. Taxis are also readily available from in front of both terminals.
Other Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN) facilities include information counters in both terminals. Each terminal also features banks, ATMs and currency exchange services, restaurants and fast food outlets, bars, duty-free and other shopping,
Terminal 2 also houses a post office, a supermarket, and a travel center. There is a pharmacy in Terminal 1.
There are many hotels in close proximity to the airport and there is a Holiday Inn located on site for those disembarking flights at the Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN).
