This has prompted a third terminal, which was opened in 2008 with state of the art facilities that exclusively serves the Emirates Airline. This third terminal is the largest building in the entire world by floor space.
Passengers arriving at Dubai International Airport can reach the city center by taking the D 89 motorway. The airport is also served by the Dubai Metro that operates 2 separate lines through the airport with train services operating from 05:00 to 00:30. The RTA runs buses from the Airport Ground Transportation centre outside the arrivals section of the terminals to various destinations throughout the city limits of Dubai.
