The current incarnation of Glasgow International Airport has a multi-tiered terminal split into three parts: West, which handles international traffic, Central, which handles the domestic traffic, and East, where the low-cost airlines arrive and depart from. The airport has plans for expansion to handle more traffic so that it can handle even more traffic. A number of airlines operate flights in and out of Glasgow International Airport, including Aer Lingus, Air Malta, Air Southwest, Continental, British Airways, BMI, EasyJet, Flybe, Emirates Airlines, KLM, Pakistan International Airlines, US Airways, and Virgin Atlantic Airways. Cities all over the world are just one plane flight away, including Amsterdam, Dubai, London, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Dublin, Toronto, and Malta.

In addition to commercial airlines, a number of charter airlines provide flights to popular vacation destinations around the world like Ibiza, Las Vegas, Malta, and Puerto Plata. Most of the charter flights depart from the East tier of the terminal.

Getting to Glasgow from the airport is a breeze, with many different buses offering a direct connection, including the 500 Glasgow Flyer, which takes visitors right into the center of the city, as well as a number of other buses with more specific destinations. Bus service is spread out over three different bus stops at the airport. There are also a number of taxi stands, as well as car rental agencies and their offices, for those with too much baggage to take on a bus.
