Flights to Grand Rapids:

Arriving at Gerald R. Ford International Airport

The airport has been operating in one way or another since 1911, with many changes and additions along the way. The latest big expansion to Gerald R. Ford International Airport came in 2000, when the passenger's terminal was completely renovated to keep up with the times. Gerald R. Ford International Airport has one passenger terminal, which is split into a two-level main terminal and two separate concourses, labeled Concourse A and Concourse B. The food court, baggage claim carousels, ticketing area, and a number of other facilities are all located in the main terminal. The airport also has three different runways.

Flights to Grand Rapids on Air Canada, Delta, Continental, Midwest, and Northwest all arrive at Concourse A. The airlines and their regional carriers provide service to Cincinnati, Detroit, Milwaukee, Toronto, Atlanta, and New York. Concourse B is the base for Allegiant Air, American Eagle, and United Airlines. Most of the traffic to and from Concourse B is based out of Chicago O'Hare.

Getting into Grand Rapids from Gerald R. Ford International Airport is a breeze, with a number of shuttles, taxis, and luxury sedans working round-the-clock. Metro Cab has both taxis and luxury sedans waiting at the curb of the passenger terminal, and a shuttle known as the Grand Rapids Air Porter goes between the airport and the most popular downtown hotels.
