International flights through multiple international airlines are available from Guadalajara to major destinations in Central America and the United States of America and domestic flights are offered to most major airports in Mexico. Recent renovation and expansion projects have allowed the airport to double its capacity. The airport is split into two terminals: Terminal 1 serving all international and some domestic flights, and Terminal 2 which exclusively operates express or regional flights.

Many hotels offer a shuttle bus from the airport to your accommodation, occasionally for a small fee, and taxicab services are regularly available outside of the terminal building. Outside of Terminal 1 you can find a bus that takes you from Guadalajara International Airport to the Central Camionera Vieja, which is close to the historic centre of the city.

As a major international airport the Guadalajara International Airport does its best to maintain a high standard of amenities and facilities to cater to international passengers although over congestion in Terminal 1 can be a problem during the busy season.
