Flights to La Aurora International Airport arrive at one of the airport's two terminals, known as the Central Terminal and the North Terminal. As the third busiest airport in all of Central America, the airport handles traffic almost 24 hours a day. The airport's main building holds the North Concourse, with its handful of gates. Recently expanded, the entire terminal is rather modern, with sleek and contemporary design. American Airlines, Maya Island Air, Cubana de Aviacion, Continental Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and TACA all fly in and out of North Concourse. Flights arrive from Dallas, Miami, Havana, Belize City, Fort Lauderdale, Mexico City, San Salvador, and San Jose de Costa Rica.

The Central Concourse handles flights operated by Copa Airlines, Iberia Airlines, Mexicana, Delta, and MexicanaLink. Flights to Guatemala City arrive there from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Panama City, Madrid, Mexico City, Cancun, and Managua. A number of cargo airlines also operate out of the Central Concourse.

Getting into the city proper from the airport is a breeze, with a number of car rental agencies with offices right next to baggage claim, as well as city buses and taxis constantly running.
