An important airport for locals and travelers heading to their ideal ski vacation, Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) provides crucial service to Gunnison, Colorado, and its surrounding valley, as well as Crested Butte, Colorado, a major ski town. In addition to the numerous charter flights and general aviation that takes place at the airport, a few different commercial airlines also provide daily service, which increases during the busy ski season, weather permitting.
A compact and easy-to-navigate airport, Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) consists of two separate runways and a small terminal, consisting of a baggage terminal and waiting area. There are a couple of different shops, a restaurant, and an information desk that is staffed during the ski season. Located just a few miles from downtown, getting to Gunnison from the airport is just a short drive, with other destinations within the popular ski valley all less than an hour from the airport itself. During the summer months, traffic is mostly limited to turboprop jets.
Four different airlines provide service to the airport, though only two of them have regular, year-round flights. During the winter months, American Airlines operates flights to and from Dallas/Forth Worth, while Delta provides services to Atlanta. Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) has year-round flights on Delta and United, to Salt Lake City and Denver, respectively.
