Flights to Iasi Airport (IAS)

Located five miles from central Iasi, which is the second largest city in Romania, is the Iasi Airport (IAS). This airport handles the most passengers per year in the entire Moldovia region. The Iasi Airport (IAS) first opened in 1926 and in 2001 competed an expansion project making separate terminals for domestic and international passengers. There are four commercial airlines serving the airport: Austrian Airlines, Carpatair, Malév Hungarian Airlines, and TAROM. The airlines fly to Vienna, Timisoara, Budapest, and Bucharest-Henri Coanda. Apart from passenger airlines the airport also is served by the two charter airlines of Carpatair and Romavia. The Iasi Airport (IAS) continues to experience growth in terms of passenger numbers, and because of this the airport has plans to undergo further renovation projects in order to modernize its facilities.

Upon arrival passengers can either take a public bus, a taxi, or rent a care to reach their final destination. Cliven, Euro Cars, and Sixt are the three rental car agencies in the area. Even if the car agency is not located at the airport, the agency will bring the rental car to the airport to have it ready before your arrival. For the most convenient places to stay, the Hotel Ciric, Hotel Select, and Hotel Dorobanti are all very close to the Iasi Airport (IAS).
