It is very inexpensive and even has its own free attraction. The hotel sits on a 5th century cistern, which guests are allowed to visit. The Beyoglu area has a full range of accommodations. Ansen 130 Suites offers New York inspired décor at prices just slightly below those charged in New York. Villa Zurich has been recently renovated. It offers moderately priced rooms in a good location. Doga Balik, the restaurant, is considered one of the better fish restaurants in the city. Budget lodging is available at Galata Residence. It is a former 19th century apartment building, which offers large rooms decorated with antiques.

The upscale area of Nisantasi does not have a lot of hotels. The one real stand out is The Sofa. This is a sleek, chic boutique hotel. They have a full-service day spa, and a lobby that features a café and bookstore.

The Bosphorous area is where true luxury can be found. Ciragan Palace was a 19th century Ottoman palace. It is the city's finest luxury hotel. It is located right on the Bosphorous and the hotel's pool looks out over the water. The décor is Ottoman inspired. W Istanbul is set in a 19th century Ottoman home. It is in the heart of the high-end shopping and dining district in the area. Eight of its rooms include outdoor, private cabanas. Bebek Hotel is small, with just 20 rooms. It offers luxurious accommodations and has one of the best bars in the city.

Hotels are located at both of Istanbul's major airports. Ataturk International Airport also has several of the major international chain hotels located in the immediate vicinity.
