Jakarta has two major airports: Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (HLP) and the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), which is the main airport operating on the island of Java and serving the greater area of the city of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
The airport is situated approximately 20 kilometers to the west of the city centre of Jakarta. Bus and taxi services are available outside of the terminal building to take you to destination throughout the island and rail services are planned to connect to the airport in the future.
