Flights to Kabul International Airport (KBL)

Kabul International Airport (KBL), sometimes called Khwaja Rawash Airport, is located a convenient nine miles from the center of Afghanistan’s city of Kabul. The airport was used strictly for military aircraft from its construction in 1960 until 2002, when it was opened to civilian aircraft.

Kabul International Airport (KBL) has a tumultuous history. It has been under the control of several different countries’ military throughout the years and was partially destroyed in 2001. But five years later, the airport accepted assistance from Japan to rebuild and it now has a modern terminal building open to both domestic and international travelers.

Kabul International Airport (KBL) is served by several different airlines, including the domestic airline Kam Air, which flies to more than half of the destinations reached by this airport, and Safi Airways, and the international airline Indian Airlines and Pamir Airlines. Travelers can easily catch direct flights from Kabul to major cities, including Delhi, Islamabad and Kandahar. The airport also offers service to cargo flights.

The airport offers WiFi Internet access to its passengers and people who fly into Kabul International Airport (KBL) have access to many hotels and car rental agencies in the area.
