 | | An Aloha Welcome at Kahului Airport | | | Passengers arrive in two main terminals of KA—the Commuter Terminal, which is found on the ground level and services those arriving on interisland flights; and the Overseas Terminal, which is found on the second level and features two concourses consisting of 40 gates servicing travelers arriving on international flights. Both terminals offer a variety of restaurants and concessions to appease any hungry traveler’s appetite. Visitor Information Booths are conveniently located in the gate areas and baggage claim to assist passengers with any questions they may have. Uniform signs complete with standardized international symbols are posted throughout the airport to direct travelers to Baggage Claim, Ground Transportation and intraterminal transportation. There are two Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints—the first is located just after the ticketing counters, and the second is located at the entrance to the baggage claim area—both of which are located at the bottom of the stairs and escalators that lead to the central atrium of the second level.
For ground transportation needs, KA is easily accessible by car, shuttle, taxi, and public transit through a roadway network connecting the Haleakala and Hana Highways. The airport offers a Cellular Telephone Waiting Lot for drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers, as well as a public parking lot lined with automatic ticket dispensers at the entrance. For an expedited exit from the parking lot, it is recommended that drivers have their tickets and method of payment readily available to present to the cashier.
