Flights to Kiev Arrive at Boryspil International Airport

Open in one form or another since the 1960s, Boryspil International Airport began handling international flights in the 1980s, with a steady increase in passengers since that era. Most flights to Kiev from abroad arrive at the airport, but it is only since the independence of the Ukraine that nationals were allowed to depart for abroad from the airport, rather than to travel through Moscow.

As one of the largest airports in all of Eastern Europe, Boryspil International Airport sees over six million passengers traveling through each year. The airport has become a hub for foreign airlines making transit flights, as well as for cargo services. International travelers arrive at Terminal B, where Adria Airways, Aeroflot, Aerosvit Airlines, British Airways, Caspian Airlines, BMI, Austrian Airlines, Belavia, Czech Airlines, Delta, Germanwings, Royal Jordanian, Scandanavian Airlines System, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, and UM Airlines flights are all based.

Boryspil International Airport is split into three different terminals: Terminal A, which handles domestic flights, Terminal B, for those international flights, and Terminal C, which is for VIP passengers, foreign dignitaries, and general special treatment passengers. Three other terminals are currently under construction, with plans for expansion to be completed in the next ten years.
