Melbourne Tullamarine Airport – Arriving Down Under

Melbourne Airport has four terminals: one caters to international flights, two for domestic flights and one for budget airlines. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights for Qantas and Jetstar. Terminal 2 handles almost all of the international traffic. A number of airlines operate lounges in the terminal. Virgin Blue and Regional Express Airlines use Terminal 3, while budget airlines use Terminal 4. Signage is extensive and clear throughout the airport. The airport is a shopper’s and diner’s paradise. Both public and airside areas are full of restaurants, cafes, bars and duty-free shops, that include all of the usual popular choices as well as plenty of Australian-flavored clothing, souvenirs, etc. All other facilities expected of a busy international airport are also available.

Taxis can be found on the ground level outside the terminals. Avoid anyone approaching you offering transport services – use the taxis waiting at the rank. Car rental agencies are located on the ground floor of the short term car park and have counters in the domestic terminals. The Skybus Super Shuttle also offers quick and easy transfers into Melbourne’s center. Other bus services operate from the airport to a number of locations within Melbourne and to surrounding regional centers. There is no direct rail link into Melbourne.

Nearby Melbourne Airport is a choice of international hotels, including the Hilton located on top of the multi-storey car park near Terminal 2. Holiday Inn and Motel Formule 1 hotels are also less than one kilometer from Tullamarine.
