Located 42km from the Belarusian capital Minsk, Minsk International Airport (MSQ) is a fast-growing airport welcoming flights from many European and Middle Eastern cities.
The single terminal airport is still sometimes referred to by locals as Minsk-2 as it opened in 1989 replacing the original Minsk airport. It has a capacity of five million passengers per year but is nowhere reaching that number as yet. Flights to Minsk originate in cities including Moscow, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, London and Frankfurt plus Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Astana and Tehran. Airlines with operations at Minsk International Airport (MSQ) include Aeroflot, El Al, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and the national carrier Belavia.
Facilities available at Minsk International Airport (MSQ) include a business class lounge, ATMs, banks, retail shops including duty-free, a choice of restaurants and bars and an information counter. Visitors arriving at the airport without a visa for Belarus can get one at the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s onsite consular office.
Transfers into Minsk are available via shuttle buses, mini buses, taxis and rental cars. All transportation service can be found in front of the terminal.
