 | | Places to Stay in Myrtle Beach: Relaxing in a Seaside Town | | | For luxury, the most popular hotel in town is the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort. More than just a place to sleep, this luxury chain hotel's location is smack dab in the center of a 145-acre resort, offering a quieter alternative to being in the heart of the town. In addition to rooms with ocean views, the Hilton has numerous swimming pools, restaurants, tennis courts and babysitting services. Conventional chains aren't the only options for upscale accommodation in Myrtle Beach, though. Kingston Plantation--where the Hilton is located--has its own mishmash of an Embassy Suites traditional hotel and various condos and villas, all of which are available for rental. It has many of the same amenities as the Hilton. The villas at Kingston Plantation aren't the only options to rent your own place. The Beachcomber Inn and Suites, another popular place to stay in Myrtle Beach, offers furnished oceanfront options for families wanting more than just a hotel room. The Beachcomber is a couple of miles out of town proper, but is minutes away from the main attractions by car. For accommodations reminiscent of sea-side vacations of the 60s and 70s, head to Ocean Reef Resort. Children under 17 stay free, there's a tiki bar and the decor is tropical-inspired. In other words, it's children-friendly lodging that appeals to those interested in the kitschier side of things. In the same vein of budget hotels is the Coral Beach Hotel, an affordable hotel where some rooms have full kitchens, though all of them are colorful, bright and befitting of their name. For quiet places to stay in Myrtle Beach there's also the Serendipity Inn, located on a side street away from the main action of town, only a block from the beach. There's a communal grill and a breakfast buffet. Another more tranquil option is the Cherry Tree Inn, with clean rooms at a very reasonable rate and beachfront views. Student rentals are not uncommon, especially for Senior Trip time or even for the entire summer. Myrtle Beach Tours offers rental services for full houses and large groups that are categorized helpfully as premium with pool, condos with pool, and party houses. | | | | | | |
