Flights to Orlando arrive at Orlando International Airport or Orlando Sanford International Airport

Orlando IA has landside and airside terminal buildings. The primary terminal building is divided into two main terminals, A and B, and is connected by an elevated tram system to the four airside terminals – Terminals 1 and 4 primarily used by international airlines with flights to the UK, Canada, Germany and Ireland, and terminals 2 and 3 for flights to most major US cities.

The budget airline Air Lingus has made flying to Europe much more affordable via it's hub in Dublin, whilst major airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa have regular flights from the UK and Europe.

Major US airlines such as Southwest, United and Delta Airlines fly daily to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and other major cities. The airline JetBlue provides cheap flights to many US cities as well as budget air fares to airports in the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America.

It is advisable to arrive 2-3 hours before your scheduled departure, especially during summer’s tourist season and near public holidays, as security and check-in can be slow. There are a plethora of car hire companies inside and outside the main terminal building, although many hotels provide transfers or you can easily catch a shuttle bus into the city.

Orlando Sanford International Airport is a little further out, situated north of Orlando. Primarily used for package tourists to the UK with airlines such as Monarch, Thomas Cook and Thompson Airlines, Sanford also has flights to smaller US airports with Las Vegas based Allegiant Air.

Sanford is a small but modern airport and has two terminals: Terminal A for international destinations and Terminal B for domestic flights. Most shops and restaurants are located in Terminal A. Despite its lesser status to IA, Sanford is consistently one of the top 30 busiest airports in the world.

The primary advantage for travelers using this airport is the speed at which visitors are processed and the variety of destinations within the US and the UK. As with the main airport, Orlando Sanford has a good selection of car-hire, such as Hertz, Dollar and Alamo, and a number of taxi and shuttle bus companies.
