 | | Renting a Car in Pensacola: Head Out on the Highway | | | If you fly into the Pensacola Regional Airport, picking up a rental car will be a breeze. On the airport grounds are rental counters for Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar Rent-a-Car, Hertz and National Car Rental. Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Thrifty have rental counters just off the airport’s property and provide their customers with complimentary shuttle service from the airport to their facilities. Most car rental agencies require drivers to be at least 25 years old and it would be a good idea to purchase the insurance offered if you don’t have a policy of your own.
Driving in Pensacola may be confusing for those not familiar with the area because one street may be known by several names. But if you have a good map or a GPS navigational system in your rental car, you shouldn’t have too much trouble. I10 runs north and south through Pensacola and provides an excellent landmark if you get turned around. Parking in Pensacola is plentiful and in the downtown area, parking is free on the weekends.
