Great Choice of Popular Hotels in Philadelphia, City of Brotherly Love

There has been a lot of recent development in Philadelphia hotel construction and much of that development has been focused on boutique hotels. These smaller hotels offer a higher degree of personalized service in more cozy settings than do the industry giants. A good few of Philadelphia’s boutique hotels are housed in restored historic buildings located in and around the Old City and close to the city’s most significant historical attractions. These hotels exude a historical richness in their architecture and décor and continue to grow in popularity.

Most of the big name chain hotels have a presence in the city including the Hilton, Sheraton, Sofitel and Hyatt groups. The Marriott group has both a downtown and an airport property. The downtown hotels are especially attractive for visitors wanting to experience the city’s historic center, and they are also the most convenient for business travelers. The downtown Four Seasons Hotel features a lush garden courtyard – a virtual park – right in the middle of the city.

Hotels in the eastern section of the city center are close to direct rail links to Philadelphia International Airport. The western part is home to more top-end hotels, including the imposing and opulent Ritz-Carlton which stands out majestically, appearing more like a museum than a hotel. Not all are expensive, however, and there are reasonably-priced hotels to be found as well. Boutique hotels like the Latham Hotel often offer very reasonable rates. The majority of business visitors stay in this part of the city so many of the area’s hotels have especially attractive discounts for weekend stays when business travelers are not so evident.
With the decentralization of the city’s residential areas, there are a growing number of smaller budget accommodation options opening in Philadelphia’s outer areas. There are many budget hotels and friendly bed-and-breakfasts located outside the city center, while still providing easy access into the downtown area. Throughout the Philadelphia region there are more than 100 bed-and-breakfasts, including many city properties located in stylish townhouses and historically certified homes similar to the city’s boutique hotels.

The glorious Fairmount Park near the Old City also houses a lovely hostel offering cheaper accommodation for budget travelers. So take a trip to Philadelhia and soon you will be able to tell your very own story!
