All majors companies operate out of Quito Airport and at various pick up and drop off locations throughout town. While the smaller, local companies may offer more attractive rates, the major companies will most likely provide a more comprehensive insurance coverage. As is true in many parts of South America, driving through Quito can be a challenge, with unpredictable local drivers and many one-way streets in the congested old town area.
