 | | Raleigh-Durham International Airport – Alighting in North Carolina | | | Raleigh-Durham Airport receives flights from all over the USA plus some flights from Canada and Mexico. The airport consists of two terminals: the older Terminal 1, and Terminal 2. It’s worth noting that the two terminals are not connected. Passengers who need to move between the terminals can make use of the shuttle bus service or a moving walkway located through the parking facility.
Dining and shopping options at the airport are extensive. Many of the most popular international restaurant chains are represented throughout the two terminals.
Other public amenities include seating inclusive of power outlets, Wi-Fi Internet access, plus a non-denominational chapel and gallery space for local artists. Note that baggage cart use is not free – cash and cards are accepted by the machines.
Passengers arriving at Raleigh-Durham International Airport can make use of a range of transport options when leaving the airport.
All taxis at the airport are regulated. Visitors leaving Terminal 1 can find the taxi dispatch near Southwest Airlines while Terminal 2’s taxis can be found on the terminal’s lower level. Taxis are metered, but for longer trips a fare can be negotiated with the driver.
Shuttle services are not licensed by the airport but are reliable and include services to the nearby car rental agencies. Most start operations around 6am. Connections to Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, nearby hotels and bus and railway stations are also available. Shuttles can be found at each terminal outside the arrivals lounges. | | | |  | | |
