For a four-star hotel that feels very 21st century, there is the Hotel Valencia, found in the midst of one of San Jose's newer developments. San Jose has an ample supply of budget accommodations near the city’s best nightlife. There's a Ramada Limited, for example, close to the SoFA downtown district. Another downtown budget option is the Homestead San Jose, where some rooms even have small kitchens and dining nooks for extended stays. Other popular chain hotels have locations in and around the downtown San Jose area. There's a Holiday Inn Silicon Valley that's very close to numerous area golf clubs. Closer to the business center is the Sleep Inn Silicon Valley, located in an ideal spot for business travelers heading to conferences at Milpitas or San Jose proper. One gigantic property close to the convention center is the Crowne Plaza San Jose Downtown. Visitors heading to town for the numerous technology and computer conferences tend to stay here.
A number of San Jose's hotels are located closer to the airport. The Doubletree Hotel San Jose offers comfortable, spacious rooms along with a gigantic swimming pool. Another popular option with business travelers is the Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Airport.
Less expensive airport hotels abound, including a Super 8, Vagabond Inn and a Days Inn, among others. These are great bets for budget travelers and aren't too far from downtown, either. There's a La Quinta Inn and a Red Roof Inn at the airport, too.
Younger travelers who are fans of kitsch might like to check out the non-chain Flamingo Motel, a two-star hotel that's very close to the Rose Garden. It's a great non-chain alternative that's very easy on the wallet as well. | | | |  | | |
