Visitors have several options for travelling to San Juan from the airport. One option involves taking a taxi from the lower level of either of the airport’s terminals. The drive into the city takes about 40 minutes and should cost between US$15 and US$20. Alternatively, there are a regular bus services and airport shuttles to and from the city. The bus line A5 goes to the city center and the fare is only US$0.75. A timetable can be picked up at the transport information desk, where tickets for the shuttle can also be purchased. For those preferring to rent a car at the airport, there are several companies with desks located on the upper level of the two terminals and courtesy telephones in the arrivals area. It is advisable to book rental cars in advance. Driving into San Juan is not too complicated – just take the Avenue Baldorioty de Castro past Isla Verde, Ocean Park and Condado, directly into the historic center of San Juan. A map can be picked up from the rental car companies or from the transport information desk.
Parking at Luis Muños Marin is simple. The multi-storey car park is just next door to the terminals and both long- and short-term parking is available. For overnight stays, the Best Western Airport Hotel is situated on level 2 of Terminal D. Shops, restaurants and a bank are also on this level in the departures area. Those in need of assistance can go to the Travellers Aid desk on the lower level of Terminal D or the tourist information point in Terminal C.
