The airport has two international terminals and one domestic terminal. Terminal B is the newest and biggest terminal and is a modern and airy facility.
On arriving on an international flight, passengers will be required to purchase a “tourist card” which will need to be shown on leaving the country. It is a valid for 15 days but can be extended by request at the Immigration counter on arrival.
Getting into Santo Domingo from the airport is easy. Taxis are easy to find. They wait right in front of the main terminal – just agree on the fare before you leave. All of the major US car rental companies are also represented at the airport. The expressway linking the airport with the city has recently been expanded and improved and it is an easy trip that usually takes less than 30 minutes.
Other facilities at the airport include a duty-free shop, food & beverage outlets, post office, banks and 24-hour currency exchange counters, ATMs, Internet kiosks, medical services and information counters.
The nearest hotel to the airport is the Quality Hotel Santo Domingo which is located just five minutes away and will organize airport pick up for arriving guests.
