Sydney Airport - Welcome to Oz!

Asian-Pacific connections top the list of international flights to Sydney, but several North American, South American, European and Middle Eastern destinations are also served. Qantas also flies to Johannesburg. Sydney Airport consists of three terminals: Terminal 1 (international), Terminal 2 (domestic), and Terminal 3 (domestic, Qantas/Qantaslink only). The terminals are connected by shuttles (fee charged). Passengers connecting to or from international flights should leave plenty of transfer time, as Terminal 3 is quite a hike away. Those with late-night flights from Sydney should also note that a curfew (intended to limit noise pollution) prevents planes from taking off and landing between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am, with little leeway.

Downtown Sydney is only five miles away, and ground transportation options are plentiful. Choose from taxis, rental cars, an Airport Express Bus, and the Airport Link train (accessible from stations below Terminals 1 and 3). Note that the buses and trains form part of regular suburban routes, and can be busy during rush hours.

Traveling with children? Check out the Kids Cinema and Playground in Terminal 3. And travelers of all ages will enjoy the observation deck upstairs, accessible through the Esky Bar. Numerous other great dining and shopping opportunities are available, ensuring you'll have plenty to do waiting for flights from Sydney.
