If you're on a strict budget while you visit Tallahassee, you can stay at the Value Place on West Tennessee Avenue. This is a very low cost hotel that allows long-term stays. There are no amenities, but the rooms are clean and have kitchenettes. There is also the Motel 6 on North Monroe Street if you don't like the Value Place scene. It's cheap and has plenty of parking. You won't find any frills here, but you can buy wi-fi for a few bucks a day.

The Apalachee Parkway area hosts a number of mid-range hotels that are convenient to shopping, restaurants, and both university campuses in Tallahassee. The Holiday Inn has an Applebee's right at the hotel, so there is no need to drive to get food. The Hampton Inn is not far away on the Parkway, and it has an Italian restaurant within walking distance. This establishment sits back from the street a bit and has a little less traffic noise. There is also a Quality Inn and Suites near here that is a smoke-free hotel, and they allow pets.

You can stay at the Four Points by Sheraton in the downtown area if you want a more luxurious place. It's on West Tennessee Avenue and offers a some nice amenities for guests. You can also get a free shuttle ride going or coming from the airport, but you need to call the hotel and schedule it. The Governor's Inn on South Adams Street is an upscale hotel with old world charm. It is within walking distance of the Florida State Capitol building, which is on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
