Ben Gurion International Airport of Tel Aviv:

Flying to Israel

The airport has three terminals with the very large and contemporary-flavored Terminal 3 welcoming most of the incoming international flights. Be prepared to walk long distances from the plane to immigration control! The recently renovated Terminal 1 deals with domestic arrivals, while a number of low-cost carriers use Terminal 2. For arriving passengers there are rail links to various parts of Israel from the Ben Gurion Airport Railway Station found in the lower level (Level S) of Terminal 3, plus there are regulated taxis waiting outside the arrivals terminal. The train trip into Tel Aviv takes less than 20 minutes. Visitors can also choose to share a sherut, the local shared taxi van, or take shuttle services into Tel Aviv. Car rental companies can be found on the first floor between the arrivals and departures halls and are always open.

The airport features a smallish shopping mall which includes dining outlets and shops that are open to both the public and passengers who have already cleared security. Passengers have other options inside the airport with a wide range of 24-hour cafes and duty-free shops located in a central rotunda.

Other facilities at the airport include medical clinics, a police station, two synagogues and information counters. There are services for business people and free wireless Internet is available throughout the airport.

Tel Aviv Airport is one of the world’s most highly policed airports with a very strong security presence to ensure safety.
