 | | Tirana Airport – flying to Albania | The airport has seen massive upgrades and expansions - both in terms of its public facilities and its air traffic equipment - over the last few years and is now a much more comfortable and modern facility. The new integrated passenger terminal is a much brighter, more spacious facility. However, despite the improvements, the airport is already operating at capacity.
Facilities at Tirana Airport include free wi-fi Internet access and a good selection of shops in the departures, arrivals and check-in areas. Shopping options include a number of international clothing brands as well as books, luggage, and electronic equipment. There are also a few f&b outlets both airside and in the public areas.
Getting into Tirana is easy via the licensed taxis which are grey and feature the red ATEx logo and airport logo on the sides of the vehicle. Taxis park in front of the terminal and offer transfers to Tirana and other cities within Albania. It usually takes around 20-25 minutes to get into Tirana. Bus services also run on the hour between the airport and the Tirana national museum downtown. The service runs from 6am till 6pm.
