Yangon Cheap Flights - RGN

Located some 10 miles north of the downtown area, the Yangon International Airport (RGN) is Burma's largest airport serving close to two million domestic and international passengers every year. Recently updated, including new terminals and runway extensions, the Yangon International Airport (RGN) is beginning to reflect its once "Best-in-Asia" status awarded to it in its early years. Passengers arriving must have a visa and it is important that you declare your occupation as some categories will be refused.

Although Myanmar is under military rule, arriving passengers are treated well and like most airport by simply following the rules, declaring currency and goods imported, it is a relatively stress-free and quick arrival experience. Passengers are advised to declare if they are bringing in more than US$2000 as this currency is only allowed to be used by foreign nationals. There are some services available for arriving passengers and taxis, both private and government, are found outside the arrivals hall. It is advised to negotiate a price before getting into a taxi as a typical fare to the downtown Yangon should cost between $7-17 depending on what hotel you are staying in.

Several international airlines, including Thai Airways International, Myanmar Airlines, Silkair and Bangkok Airways offer multiple cheap flights daily to Yangon International Airport (RGN) and there are several affordable domestic carriers as well.
